About Cedric Sharpe
British classical chamber & orchestral cellist, composer, and Professor of Cello. Born 13 April 1891 in Maida Vale, London, England, UK - Died 1978 in Steyning, Sussex, England, UK.
He graduated from the in 1912. In 1915, he co-founded the Philharmonic Quartet. In 1924, he founded the . He was also a member of several other ensembles (Chamber Music Player, Chamber Music Trio, English Trio, Trio Players, Harp Ensemble, and (formed in 1930)). Former Principal Cello with (1930s & 1940s), (1931-1939), (1940s), and (1940s). In 1928, he became Professor of Cello at the for nearly 40 years.
