Review by Megan Simpson

The Fyodorov Sisters, the latest album by the Russian folk group Сестры Федоровы (Sisters Fyodorov), is a beautiful tribute to their country's rich musical heritage. The album features a mix of traditional folk songs and original compositions, all performed with the group's signature harmonies and instrumental prowess.

One standout track is "Kalinka," a classic Russian folk song that has been covered countless times, but the Fyodorov Sisters put their own spin on it with their intricate vocal arrangements and use of traditional instruments like the balalaika and domra. Another highlight is "The Birch Tree," a hauntingly beautiful ballad that showcases the group's ability to convey emotion through their music.

The original compositions on the album are just as impressive, with tracks like "The Road" and "The Bell Tower" showing off the group's songwriting skills and ability to create new music that fits seamlessly into the traditional Russian folk genre.
