Notes
A compilation of twenty American punk unknowns '76-'82.Comments
My Northwestern University roommate Dan Osborn took me to see them in Chicago in the fall of 1985. I loved it. I turned my little sister onto this and all her friends loved it. Just found out he re-released it years ago on his label, Drag City Records. Dan is one of my heroes. I found it again while putting together a list of important things for my daughter to check out.
I'm 67 and remember WRCT (C-MU) playing this 81-83 when I went back to get my Masters at 30. I discovered New Wave then and some of my fondest memories. Tribe from Boston was another amazing group.
Some rando posted this on an allmusic.com thread and I've listened to it probably 10-15 times in the last week or so.
One of the best representative songs of snotty, (relatively) unknown and undiscovered US punk. I first heard this on the No One Left Behind comp LP (which edited the song to about half its length) and bought the reissue of the 7". I love this record.
YOUSED TO SEE THEM AT THE CONTINENTAL IN BUFFALO! ON MY 30ITH BIRTHDAY IN 1985 THE , FEMS , GOO GOO DOLLS, FORGOTEN REBELS! I WAS TRIPPING ON BLACK BLOTTER ACID AND SMOKING UP!
Was a popular request on WRCT
First heard this in October of '88… didn't hear it again until youtube. Never forgot it.
Reminds me of my old Rochester, NY, days in the 80's, at Scorgies.
Are you mellow yet? Continental Club classic from '83! Thanks for sharing this. Can someone post the Femmes video of ORDER ? I saw it at the Continental 82-85 but have never seen it on You Tube.
Used to call PRB and request this over and over. Had a cassette of it but it broke of course. This is hysterically funny after not hearing it for 20 yrs. Vocal sounds like a cheapo Johnny Rotten and the music like the Ramones after about 10 drinks.
This was my first Punk show in the "B-Lo and I Laffed my Ass off! Bad Water , you rock!!!!!!
We used to play this all the time. I always remembered this song, and never thought to look it up. Which is sad. Because I'm 52 now and I'll be dead soon.
WPRB is where I heard it first.
'PRB kix copious ass.
Fucking EPIC remembered from WPRB Princeton Radio Hardcore show. 1980s. FUCKING GREAT !!!!!!!!
I had this on a cassette of a the WNYU show "Life After Death" I would kill to get that broadcast again, anyone out there have any recordings of that show from back then?
Very well remember good ol WUWU..."The Rock of Western New York!"
swhat party? never remember it anyway..
WUWU ruled.....

Many years ago Gary Storm played this song on WUWU - 107.7 FM...I thought then the same thing I think now...Greatest song ever!
Could you upload any other Fems songs because I have heard about this band before when hearing about Buffalo in the 80s but never heard full songs because it is 20 years on and hard to find. Another song I heard of before was called "Isolation Monkey" or something like that.
@scantronbeats I have 'Frustration', 'Is It Living' and 'Order'. This was a 4-song 7". I will smack them up w/in the next couple days. I know there was some good shit they did live that maybe were bootlegged...one song about being lost on the Van Wyck Expy that was pretty funny. There's some live footage from the Continental in Bflo that's here in u2b if u haven't found it already. Stand by 4 further instruction...and ur welcome.
AHHHHHHH YEAHHHHHH----to much---nights off franklin and chip-waahhhh
