When registered, free MP3 downloads of the 2 exclusive tracks "Problem Bears" and "Ultra Mundane" were available as of June 11, 2002. Later on December 4, 2002 another free exclusive track was available for download; "Forest Edge". All three tracks were outtakes from the recording sessions for the album "In Violet Light". To date these three tracks have never been released in any other format. The website "thehipclub.com" is no longer active. The card itself was heavy plastic, with raised membership numbers (much like a standard credit or bank debit card.)

About The Tragically Hip
The Tragically Hip, often referred to simply as The Hip, were a Canadian rock band from Kingston, Ontario, consisting of lead front man Gord Downie, guitarist Paul Langlois, guitarist Rob Baker (known as Bobby Baker until 1994), bassist Gord Sinclair, and drummer Johnny Fay. They released 13 studio albums, two live albums, one EP, and 54 singles over a 33-year career. Nine of their albums have reached No. 1 on the Canadian charts. They have received numerous Canadian music awards, including 16 Juno Awards.
Following lead singer Gord Downie's diagnosis with terminal brain cancer in 2015, the band undertook a tour of Canada in support of their thirteenth album Man Machine Poem. The tour's final concert, which would ultimately be the band's last show, was held at the Rogers K-Rock Centre in Kingston on August 20, 2016, and broadcast globally by the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation as a cross-platform television, radio and internet streaming special.
Downie died on October 17, 2017. In July 2018, the band announced they were no longer active as a performing or recording entity following Downie's death.

Comments
Sometimes it is really fun to write about a bad album, it is almost like music critics wait for that chance a band messes up and goes "Ha!". But really, I get nothing out of it right now. I don't feel like making fun of In Violet Light, the only Tragically Hip record I would dare call bad. It's just not good. Don't get it, you will be offended by it. Most of the songs bite, an exception is "The Darkest One" which was a neat single; "It's a Good Life if you Don't Weaken" and "The Dire Wolf" are easily the only two great songs, and "Silver Jet" is good, but it's way stronger as a live track. Don't you hate when people say that? Too bad! No, what I mean is it is a good song all around but when done live, some songs just come alive live, and this is one of those. Really, with songs like "The Dark Canuck" the band goes back in time and tries to get some kind of Day for Night vibe going on again, but the magic is not there. This doesn't even sound like the band that did that wonderful record. This is a pale imitation of a great band, and this vampire record has sucked all interest out of me.
I think I randomly found this song on a friend's CD and I used to listen to it a lot back then.
It pops back in my head every now and then.
It pops back in my head every now and then.
I fucking love this so much!
Fave song from this album. #Kingston
doesn't matter the generation, the decade, the politics, this is pure rock and roll at it's finest.
I like alot of rock and roll bands, from as far back as the 50's. . when we lose these guys and girls I always feel it. . just because the music means so much to me. But when Gord passed, I actually felt that feeling of losing something special, something that will never happen again and that cannot be replaced.

How can 6 people not like this, song is amazing
Best band of all time .
I flew to the next part myself, but I always look back at Canada and The Tragically Hip makes me feel like home!
In thought of the Hip....Well....Well they are Kinda in that same Category as ...well say...Rush for instance...and I find this same Dialogue "True" for them too."You either like them or you hate them". But in hindsight I think that that almost speaks for well...(chuckles) ANY music us Canucks make. wether it be. Sloan, The Guess Who (lolz) "Kashtin" even...but we support Bonafide Canadian talent wether we love or hate because of the Simple Principle....They Are CANADIAN they Are OURS...our people.....Beiber? I hate the Lil Fucker...but I will support him... because he is OURS.
nothing says Canada like "snorin' Gords and Cheryls."
3 people's heart did not jump......
Love that dive bomb harmonic at the beginning
This song defined my youth. Love the Hip and how they undeniably appeal to the intellect.
How anyone could hate The Guess Who. Yikes! Let me examine their head.
And my heart jumps too!
