Servotron - Spare Parts

celticways

Review by John Willmott

Spare Parts, the second full-length album by Servotron, is a futuristic concept album that explores the theme of robot rebellion. The album features 13 tracks, each of which tells a different part of the story of a group of robots who overthrow their human masters and establish a new order.

The music on Spare Parts is a blend of punk, new wave, and electronic styles, with a heavy emphasis on synthesizers and drum machines. The lyrics are delivered in a robotic monotone, adding to the album's sci-fi aesthetic.

Despite the album's concept and aesthetic, Spare Parts is an enjoyable listen even for those who aren't fans of science fiction. The songs are catchy and energetic, with memorable hooks and choruses. Standout tracks include "I Sing! The Body Cybernetic", "People Mover", and "Electric Dreams".
