Review by jordi prats

Indian Soundies, the collaborative album by Moniek Darge and Graham Lambkin, is a unique and mesmerizing sonic journey that takes the listener on a trip through the sounds and rhythms of India. The album is a beautiful blend of field recordings, found sounds, and electronic manipulation, all expertly woven together to create a rich and immersive listening experience.

The album features a wide range of sounds, from the bustling streets of Kolkata to the tranquil sounds of nature. Each track is a snapshot of a different aspect of Indian culture, from the traditional music of the region to the sounds of everyday life. The use of found objects, such as bells, drums, and even a train whistle, adds an organic and authentic feel to the music, while the electronic manipulation gives it a modern and experimental edge.

One of the standout tracks on the album is "Kolkata Train Journey," which perfectly captures the chaotic energy of a train ride through the city. The track features a mix of field recordings and electronic sounds, creating a dynamic and immersive sonic landscape. Another highlight is "The Bird on the Wire," a haunting and atmospheric piece that blends the sounds of birds with electronic manipulation to create a dreamlike and otherworldly sound.
