Review by Matt Bird

Ray Charles' album "I've Got News For You: I'm Gonna Move To The Outskirts Of Town" is a classic masterpiece that showcases the legendary singer's incredible talent and versatility. Released in 1962, the album features a collection of blues, jazz, and soulful tracks that highlight Charles' unique ability to blend different genres and create a sound that is both timeless and unforgettable.

The album opens with the title track "I've Got News For You", a swinging blues number that sets the tone for the rest of the album. Charles' powerful vocals are backed by a tight horn section and a driving rhythm section that keep the energy high throughout the entire track. Other standout tracks include "Greenbacks", a soulful ballad that features Charles' signature piano playing and heartfelt vocals, and "Lonely Avenue", a bluesy track that showcases his ability to convey deep emotion through his music.

Priceless.....
Oh my, oh my. Wow! I had forgotten about the organ. I really got into Ray Charles some time back in the early 60's after What'd I Say (1959). Got a lot of his earlier albums. What'd I Say was on three of them -- all three with different versions. Outskirts was on one of them and was one of my favorites along with other slow songs like Cry In My Own Tears. The other great Ray Charles organ song is One Mint Julep. It's an instrumental so there's lots of organ. Great song.
