Andy Sheppard - Made in Normandie

Andy Sheppard's album Made in Normandie is a masterful blend of contemporary jazz and traditional French music. The saxophonist's skillful playing is complemented by the rich textures of his ensemble, which includes accordion, guitar, bass, and percussion. The album's title is a nod to Sheppard's connection to the region, where he has lived for many years. The songs on the album are a mix of original compositions and covers of classic French tunes, all given a fresh interpretation by the band. Highlights include the hauntingly beautiful "Les Amants de Saint-Jean", the lively "Valse de Wasso", and the dreamy "Ballade de Paris".
