Willie Bobo's album "Sunshine Superman Sockit To Me" is a delightful blend of Latin jazz and soulful funk. Released in 1969, the album features Bobo's signature percussive style on tracks such as "Fried Neckbones and Some Home Fries" and "Soul Foo Young." The title track, a cover of Donovan's "Sunshine Superman," is given a groovy makeover with Bobo's percussion and a horn section.
The album also showcases Bobo's talent as a bandleader, with each musician given room to shine on solos. The album's closer, "Boogaloo in Room 802," is a perfect example of this, with Bobo's timbales and the piano of Joe Cain playing off each other in a lively call-and-response.

After many years I learned that a "guasasa" (at least in Cuba) is a little fly, lol, so he is calling his girl, "my little fly" (my guasasa and then guasasandra). Love this tune too!
Another fantastic latin groove from the late '60's...you can hear every instrument in this outstanding production...great guitar solo...this song was my intro to latin music ...will always love it....short, but sweet!!!!!!!!!
