Born 4 November 1943 in Monkey Town, Debe, Trinidad; died 2 May 2000.
Trinidadian chutney artist credited as the father of chutney music. He created the genre's first hit in 1969 with "Nani and Nana" and followed it with many more hits, performing regularly until his death. There is a statue of him located near his former home in Debe.
