Brian Wilson was everywhere...........
i m looking for thinking about you
I'm afraid Brian didn't have good judgment when it came to outside talent.
Fun hearing this in stereo for the first time.???
the mix is terrible no lead vocal sounds like she is singing the lead vocal down the hallway her voice is bad as well!! great backing track by brian beach boys should have recorded this instead!!
Kinda has the Runaround Sue sound to it
Thank you for sharing!
I can tell you a little bit about this singer because I went to high school with her. Her name was Sharon Marie Esparza. The school was Novato High School in the Marin County, CA town of Novato, north of San Francisco. She performed this at a school talent show, & we were all a-twitter because rumor had it that "one of the Beach Boys" (!!wow!) was supposedly in the audience. Since she was the only one on the stage when she sang this song (and it sounded just like the record) she obviously must have been singing to her recording. I liked this song; it has a catchy hook, one I've remembered all these years, which is why I Googled it. At the end of the evening's program, she appeared onstage in a lovely white gown & performed a classic song (I don't remember title; may have been The Ave Maria). When she started to sing, something went amiss & she giggled & started over. She appeared nervous & uncomfortable. Unfortunately, it somewhat diminished the somber tone of the number. She was a big girl with a wide smile, olive skin, brown eyes & thick brown hair. She seemed like a nice girl. Overall, I wasn't terribly impressed with her voice. I've no idea how she first came to be "discovered" by the Beach Boys. I don't recall seeing her much around school or the neighborhood; she lived down the street from me. I moved away at the end of that school year (1964).
