Review by Tom Waller

Satin Whale's album "Don't Stop the Show" is a classic example of German progressive rock from the 1970s. The band's adept musicianship and penchant for blending different genres make this album a standout in their discography.

The opening track, "Traumzeit," sets the tone with its driving rhythm and intricate guitar work. The song transitions seamlessly into "Muzak," a funky instrumental that showcases the band's ability to incorporate jazz and funk into their sound.

The album's centerpiece is the epic "Lost Mankind," a nearly 20-minute opus that shifts between heavy rock and delicate acoustic passages. The song's intricate arrangements and dynamic shifts make it a standout track and a highlight of Satin Whale's career.

Other standout tracks include "Don't Stop the Show," a catchy rocker with a sing-along chorus, and "Song for Thesy," a beautiful acoustic ballad that showcases the band's softer side.

About Satin Whale

1970's progressive rock band from Cologne/Köln, Germany. Satin Whale started as a largely instrumental band, playing long tracks with keyboards, flute and majestic arrangements. Songs became more and more the focus of albums as they went on, and tracks got shorter (excepting the live double). Throughout their history Satin Whale retained a distinctive and unique style.
