HaHa, I Love it !! For years, I was a disc jockey & would you believe that I ACTUALLY GOT REQUESTS for this tune ??!! From Northeast Ohio to Niagara Falls, Canada,
"T.J. the D.J." was the ONLY jock that carried this song !!! Rock On, Y'All !!!
"T.J. the D.J." was the ONLY jock that carried this song !!! Rock On, Y'All !!!
~ WLS, Chicago, Summer, 1971. Thank you for posting a Buddah label classic. Howdy Doody Theme meets Olivia Newton-John/Bob Dylan's If Not For You. Cheers, DAVEDJ ~
Hope you find all the songs you are looking for. Some songs are hard to find.
This song brings back a lot of memories.
I have this on my underrated playlist
This record Been AUDOGRAPHED?
❤?
Yep...very early 1970s ... probably 1971. I noticed that Buddah Records labeled other bubblegum artists, such as the Ohio Express and 1910 Fruitgum Company.
Show ran from 1947 to 1960.
-- I'm showing my age here -- I remember roller skating to this song at the Boardman Rollercade in the mid/late 70's -- Boardman, Ohio.. ?
I have looked for this song for years, and could only come up with the original, Howdy Doody song from the TV show. I remember this song from the early 70's, played on a Fort Wayne, Ind. radio station. Thanks for the post and the memories in my 1973 AMC Javelin AMX, what a time.
#62 on Hot 100 in 1971.
I remember stocking grocery shelves at night during the summer of 1971 while this was playing on the radio on WLS in Chicago. Good Times.
JUST AS GOOD AS GOLD!..Thank you so very much for posting and sharing this "lost and VERY rarely heard anymore" lil' gem that peaked at #62 on the Billboard Hot 100 Chart for two weeks back on the the weeks of July 10, 1971 and July 17, 1971 for the P-Nut Gallery...This would sadly be their only single to make the charts..I thoroughly enjoyed listening...and the sound quality is TOP-NOTCH too! Take Care! Ms. Elizabeth????????????
After finding this, There is nothing left that is missing on YouTube. YouTube Rocks!!!!!
Sweet! 1910 fruit gum Rocks!!!
Howdy woody
didn't this song come out in the seventies? i seem to remember this song then, but the description says circa 58?
I found this 45 at a record store his week for $1. I love most stuff on the Buddah label and so that's why I bought it!
Thanks for posting this amazingly rare song. I can't find it on any CD collection. This is actually from early summer 1971 when Howdy Doody was having an unexpected resurgence due to nostalgic Baby Boomers. The show even played the Fillmore East. The general Bubblegum arrangement is due to the fact that Buddah was the big Bubblegum label in 1968-69 & included Ohio Express, 1910 Fruitgum Co,. etc.
Yes!! I remember the purple album cover with the big yellow smiley face ... one of my most favorite childhood memories :)
Lol me too i can totally relate I've always just wanted to hear this once more and share it with my kids... Thank you for posting Spykeopath another off my bucket list :)
This was released during the big Howdy Doody revival in the early 1970s,when Buffalo Bob was making appearances on college camouses full of the kids who'd sung along with him 15 to 20 years before.
