Review by Christian Åhs Grevsjö

The Hebrides Overture Symphony No 4 Italian A Midsummer Nights Dream by Mendelssohn, performed by the London Philharmonic Orchestra and Concertgebouworkest under the direction of Eduard van Beinum, is a stunning collection of classical music that will leave any listener in awe.

The album opens with the Hebrides Overture, a sweeping and majestic piece that evokes images of the Scottish landscape. The London Philharmonic Orchestra's interpretation of the piece is masterful, with every note perfectly executed and the dynamics expertly controlled.

The Symphony No. 4 in A Major, also known as the Italian Symphony, is equally impressive. Mendelssohn's use of melody and rhythm create a lively and energetic piece that the Concertgebouworkest performs with passion and precision.

The album concludes with A Midsummer Night's Dream, a suite of music composed for Shakespeare's play of the same name. The London Philharmonic Orchestra's rendition of this piece is nothing short of magical, capturing the whimsy and romance of the play with ease.
