Great memory from the Winter of 77-78! Thank you!
GREAT...................
Otis is a liar that temptation movie is nothing like it was thats why I'm glad I
didn't watch ? it
didn't watch ? it
Great song that never was really listened to.love it.its the temptations what's not to like about it
Otis Williams have a phenomenal voice
Otis williams did a fantastic job on this song I see my child the harmony just reaches out and grabs you what a song
I think this song was recorded after his son Lamont died.
First time I’ve heard this Song . Louis Price & Otis Williams are sharing lead on “I See My Child”. I like the song but it makes me Sad!!!
Very Beautiful song, and arrangement. I love the arrangement. I am a lifelong Temptations authority, and aficionado. Therefore, I will not get into the debate about Otis' voice as a lead singer. The Temps were recognized as having five singers, any one capable of singing lead, with the primary three strongest leads being Ruffin, Kendricks, and (Paul) Williams. However, because of the influence of the Temptations movie, which took creative license in its depictions, so many people look for negative things to point among the group. So, now people want to quote the line "Ain't nobody comin' to see you Otis" as some sort of barometer to measure group talent. That line from the movie was more than likely made up, and written for the movie. Otis had a smooth voice, and could sing. You don't survive as a Temptation if you can't hold your own vocally. While he may not have had the vocal chops of the three maim leads, he was key to their harmony. If you are familiar with his voice, you will hear him holding down the background harmony alternating depending on the song, between first tenor, second tenor, and baritone. In closing, I say, to latter day Temps fans, don't be spoiled. Most vocal groups tend to have one, sometimes two lead singers. The Temps had three powerhouse leads, though all have taken turns. What do people expect from Otis? It should be obvious that the mold and formula,, for which the group is now known, evolved as a result of the fateful meeting of the "Classic Five". Though not the original intention, like some groups today, it became apparent that each Temps member could sing lead. Another coincidence, and later requirement, of their trademark "The Tall, Tan, Talented Temptations" was that you had to be at least six feet tall to be a member. Al Bryant, and later the "Classic Five" all just coincidentally happened to be over six feet in height, and good looking. Like one music exec stated, it " was like they were all from Central Casting". This evolution became the standard until, current group member Terry Weeks, who is 5'10
What a beautiful voice Otis Williams has -- usually blending in -- this is a treat, Thank You for sharing it!!
My main man Otis Williams putting some stank on this one!! And Louis Price doing his thing great song forget what the haters say!! Definitely adult contemporary style
David Ruffin: Ain't nobody paying to come see you Otis! ??
Once again, 2 years after my last comment here.. this is a great song. Great album.
TNR-vintage. Listen All the Temptations were lead singers. Otis Could LEAD and he was the Leader of the group, and he is still keeping the Dream alive, Temptations Forever. Kelsey West Philly ? ✌
Bareback is the most underrated album's The Tempt.
Otis can sing but you can see why they didn’t release songs he led on. Simply nothing distinctive about his voice.
This was a great song from their Atlantic years from the Album "Bare Back"....Otis and Louis Price share leads.Otis in great form as usual with his smooth Tenor.
♥♥♥
mr telephone man there's something wrong with my line
Dam this song is sad. I can't even listen to it sometimes. But I love it
All of them are capable of singing a dynamic lead a true temps fan Freddie dice Frankford to
At last I get to hear Otis, can't understand why he doesn't lead sing more often.
I never knew Otis could lead....lol
