Long Island Sound's self-titled album is a stunning debut that showcases the band's eclectic sound and impressive musicianship. The group, which consists of saxophonist Jon Irabagon, pianist Kris Davis, bassist John Hébert, and drummer Tom Rainey, draws inspiration from a wide range of genres, including free jazz, post-bop, and avant-garde.

One of the standout tracks on the album is "We Are All Responsible," a dynamic and frenetic piece that features Irabagon's blistering saxophone lines and Rainey's propulsive drumming. "Surrealism" is another highlight, with Davis's intricate piano work and Hébert's melodic bass lines creating a dreamy, otherworldly atmosphere.

Throughout the album, Long Island Sound demonstrates their ability to seamlessly blend different styles and moods.
