The James Gang - Funk No 48 Collage

Review by Ivanna Quiroz

Funk No. 48 Collage by James Gang is a classic album that showcases the band's unique blend of rock, blues, and funk. Released in 1970, the album features 9 tracks that are a perfect representation of the band's signature sound.

The album starts off with the funky and upbeat "Funk #48," which sets the tone for the rest of the album. The band's tight rhythm section and Joe Walsh's guitar work are on full display throughout the album, especially on tracks like "Tend My Garden" and "Ashes, The Rain, and I."

The album also features some slower, bluesy tracks like "Stop" and "Take a Look Around," which showcase the band's versatility and range. The album ends on a high note with the energetic and upbeat "Lost Woman," leaving the listener wanting more.

Listen to this stuff and county fair and all the Joe Walsh stuff pre Eagles .. Just Amazing what a True Talent this guy is he is up there with ANYONE and I mean ANYONE , and it all still stands up to this day ( It’s 2021 of time of writing).Walsh was of his time and ahead of his time all at the same time if that makes sense, I guess that makes his music Timeless , For someone who came across as a bit Mad and Eccentric he was an absolute perfectionist Musically and was not messing around he really is up there’s with anyone no matter who they are Beatles, Stones , Led Zep, Mozart anyone ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️?

Wonderful song, in my special collection of songs. One time Pete Townsend of The Who said that his favorite guitar player was Joe Walsh . One great guitar player praising another..... love it.?????

Played this at a jam last Saturday. Of course my guitar was not tuned properly for the song and I had to play in in E minor.

I was born in 66s, grew up at an early age on this beautiful music. Finally at 12 asked "who is this"! Ah cool hippie which I think of often said, it's the James gang. So I bought they're greatest hits featuring a live version of by the boomer. What's weird is I was 12-17 and sold dope to him. Acopolco gold, blonde Lebanese, black isralie, opiian hash. Wow where are you now billy crusher? I mite have some good mescaline ? to try. The last time I seen this talenant man playing hip music and "high"hopes he looked homeless and I rolled a quarter in one doob and gave it to him. Oh well
