Certain projects take a long time to substantiate, and as for a good wine, all the necessary conditions need to be present for its maturation. Two years ago, „The Ground Floor“ cast their spell on us – a french duo by the names of François Vasseur and Yannick Baltassat. Unlike a great number of electronic music composers, these two compose and arrange their pieces live. François is a „real“ pianist , thus the sessions are recorded in one shot, almost as it was done in the past. They have developed this project during several months, constantly re-recording and re-arranging. They’ve been tweaking this project until the very last minute. We don’t think it is necessary to use words to describe what this music unfolds naturally. We invite you to dive into this Canal EP the best way there is, fresh and without bias.You will also find the very complementary remixes by David Durango, 9west and Prisme, masterly and respectful visions of the project: just what you should be able to expect from a rework.We have the honor to share this Canal EP with you, and we hope you’ll enjoy it.
