The Toshiko Akiyoshi Jazz Orchestra's album Strive For Jive is a brilliant showcase of the band's talent and versatility. From the opening track "Kogun," the listener is immediately transported to a world of complex rhythms and intricate melodies that are both engaging and challenging.
Akiyoshi's skills as a pianist and composer are on full display throughout the album, with each track showcasing her unique approach to jazz. The ensemble's tight arrangements and expert musicianship make for a cohesive and exciting listening experience.
