Review by Oliver Höfinghoff

Leise Flehen Meine Lieder is an album that showcases the talents of some of the most renowned classical musicians of all time. Franz Schubert, Gundula Janowitz, Christa Ludwig, Rita Streich, Dietrich FischerDieskau, Peter Schreier, and Fritz Wunderlich all come together to create a truly breathtaking collection of songs.

The album features a number of Schubert's most beloved compositions, including "Die Forelle," "Gretchen am Spinnrade," and "An die Musik." Each of these pieces is performed with a level of skill and passion that is truly awe-inspiring. The singers' voices blend together beautifully, creating a rich and complex sound that is both haunting and uplifting.

One of the standout performances on the album is Dietrich FischerDieskau's rendition of "Der Erlkönig." His powerful baritone voice perfectly captures the tension and drama of the piece, making it one of the most memorable tracks on the album.
