Review by Ashleigh P

Asteroids, the debut album by Flint, is a mesmerizing journey through a soundscape that is both ethereal and haunting. The album features a mix of electronic and acoustic instrumentation, with each track incorporating a unique blend of textures and tones that complement the overall atmosphere of the album.

The opening track, "Orbit," sets the tone for the album with its dreamy synth melodies and pulsing beats. "Meteor Shower" follows with a more upbeat tempo, featuring catchy guitar riffs and soaring vocal harmonies.

Throughout the album, Flint's vocals are a standout feature. They are delicate and emotive, conveying a sense of vulnerability and introspection that is echoed in the lyrics. The production is also noteworthy, with each track showcasing a meticulous attention to detail that allows the listener to fully immerse themselves in the music.

One of the standout tracks on the album is "Black Hole," a hauntingly beautiful ballad that showcases Flint's vocal range and the depth of emotion she is able to convey. The album closes with "Nebula," a slow-burning track that builds to a climactic finale, leaving the listener with a sense of awe and wonder.

About Flint

The band performed several gigs, their first being a brief set at Download Festival 2003 (June 1). The first release "Asteroids" was released on July 14, 2003 and was a pink, limited edition 103 single available on vinyl. The second single titled "Aim 4" was released on July 14, 2003. The video for the second single was directed by Jonas Åkerlund, who also directed The Prodigy's "Smack My Bitch Up" video. Following the release of "Aim 4" the band planned to release their debut album "Device No. 1" on July 28, 2003; however, this release was cancelled. The release never happened and shortly after the band decided to split up. Keith then went on to form a project titled "Clever Brains Fryin" while Davis went on to form "Victory Pill". Flint remixed Marilyn Manson's mOBSCENE, with Keith providing new vocals.
