Disco. Very. Discovery. That was the joke. I think Richard Tandy coined that phrase. It doesn't matter as this is still another classic ELO album. Some very fine songs are on this album. This group always held a very high standard I believe. ELO is a band that seems to polarised people at times. Too commercial. Always someone complaining somewhere. For fans of this group though like me they can do no wrong.
…and then one night Jeff Lynne decided the album needed a proper rock and roll song on it before it was ready for release. He waited until everyone else had gone home, took the drum track from this song and then slowed it down and looped it. He then came up with a guitar riff and some lyrics, played all of the instruments he needed to finish the song, and et voilà, “Don’t Bring Me Down” became ELO’s biggest hit ever.
If the drumbeat sounds familiar, it is because it was lifted from this song, slowed down (which on analog tape also meant lower pitch), and looped to produce the drum track for the much more famous "Don't Bring Me Down".
The drum tracks for this song was re-used, slowed down, compressed for use in the song “Don’t. Bring Me Down””.

Never heard this one in a long time as I had the original vinyl & wore it out too as it was a good song & yes Richard Tandy used a Yamaha CS- 80 keyboard! ??
This and Bluebird are my favorite two songs that never got airplay but were so amazingly written and produced. I love the tempo change.

bring me down " ( " No me desanimes " ) , ralentizándola y proporcionándole un toque más pesado e incisivo.
" On the run " ( " Arrancando " ) tiene ,entre otras , mucha influencia de The Beatles y The Hollies - creo. En especial , de estos últimos.
