- Compilation of two 10" albums from 1961 ("Black Cat", stereo) and 1960 ("Black Footsteps", mono). First CD issue.
- Twelve page booklet includes liner notes in Japanese by Takeo Yamashita's son, Toru, Japan Detective Writers Club and Mogura-Dan, plus notation for "Black Cat" and dialogue/chorus/lyrics for "Black Footsteps" by Seiichi Ida.
- Both traycard and booklet tracklistings erroneously title the 1960 release 黒い影 ("Black Shadow") instead of 黒い足音 ("Black Footsteps").
- Compilation of two 10" albums from 1961 ("Black Cat", stereo) and 1960 ("Black Footsteps", mono).
- Reissue of CDSOL-1071 in the Nippon Jazz Spirits Series. Release includes the original 2003 edition sealed with obi within a resealable outer bag and new obi. Only the 2020 obi features the UVWA-0045 cat. no. All other aspects are identical to the original issue.
- 2020 obi includes information of a mail-order CD offer. A bonus mini calendar card (88 x 63mm) was available to customers with purchase.
