I remember. One of my favorite songs from 1966. I was 17
One of the first 45's I heard after getting out of the Navy. LOVED this immediately and went downtown to buy it. Verdelle had an incredible voice and the lyrics are so true for the time. In my old neighborhood, a new highway destroyed it!
I heard the original Italian version in 1966 when I was 18 and loved it even though I didn’t understand a word but It stayed with me Only just found this version today. Understanding the words makes it even more poignant for me,

Wow, I was so surprised to find this song today on Youtube. I remember this song so well from years ago, but the words describe the world today. Songs from our youth in the "60s and "70s bring back so many memories. Wish the world was as I remember it.
