The Rounder Records Best Of 2011 New In 2012 album is a fantastic compilation of some of the best music from the label's artists. Featuring a diverse range of genres, from bluegrass to folk to blues, this album truly has something for everyone.
The album kicks off with the upbeat and catchy "Crazy 'Bout You Baby" by the legendary blues musician Taj Mahal. From there, listeners are treated to a mix of old favorites and new discoveries, including the hauntingly beautiful "The Wind and the Dove" by Alison Krauss and Union Station and the foot-stomping "Take Me Back to Tulsa" by Asleep at the Wheel.
One of the standout tracks on the album is "The Way It Goes" by Gillian Welch. Welch's voice is soulful and raw, and the lyrics are poignant and relatable. Another highlight is "The Devil's Nine Questions" by Old Crow Medicine Show, which showcases the band's impressive musicianship and unique sound.
