About The Tornados
The Tornados were an English instrumental group mostly active in the 1960s.
The house band for pioneering record producer . Their original and classic line-up comprised (guitar), (drums), Burt (bass), (rhythm guitar) and (keyboards). Their instrumental material was composed and produced by Meek, and frequently had a futuristic sound, reflecting Meek's interest in electronics and sound manipulation. Although their first single "Love And Fury" bombed, the follow-up "" caught the public imagination and was a number one hit in both the UK and USA; they were the first British group ever to top the US Hot Hundred. The quintet enjoyed several more UK hits, though the original line-up began to fall apart when Heinz Burt left for a solo career as a vocalist in 1963 he scored one major UK hit, "Just Like Eddie" later that year and none of the original members remained by the time the Tornados finally disbanded upon Meek's death in 1967.
Do not confuse with american surf rock band , famous for the track "Bustin' Surfboards".

Comments
Very relaxing.
For those who haven't heard this, your continued ignorance in all things good distresses me .
Wow!
"The Shadows" a far better version, my opinion of course.........
Radio veronica's tune for the Will Luikinga show, Will Wil Wel. Running from 1970 till 1974 when radio Veronica had to stop broadcasting from the international waters.
Love it!
Used by Will Wil Wel on caroline in 1980
Sid, are you sure about that date of 1963? 'Chasing Moonbeams' from memory was done in 1962. I believe it was featured on the EP 'More Sounds From The Tornados' (Decca DFE 8521.) The date says 1962. The highest chart position of this EP was #8. You are correct about it being written by Roger Laverne.
awesome!
