One thing is certain, she doesn't imitate Victoria de los Angeles, whose interpretation is practically coined. She gives her own v. different but still amusing take on it, & she is in fine vocal fettle. I think Berganza was the greatest coloratura mezzo of her generation, no offence to Marilyn Horne... OR to the inimitable Janet Baker who did not specialise in coloratura singing tho' she was readily capable of doing it. Berganza's tone was velvet, like Bartoli's in the beginning, & she stayed velvety until her retirement. There are pieces I wouldn't hear anyone else do, so much she has put her mark on them. Brava, Teresa!!!
