The first song I heard loading my newborn into our car and driving home for the first time as a dad. 16 years ago. Still brings tears and a lump in my throat. I sing it (horribly) to my 4yr old little girl now.
She thinks that I love her because she’s an incredible genius, and because of everything she can show and give me. All I want is for her to understand I would love her no matter what, that I just want to lay with her and forget everything else, that I want HER, not what she can provide me with.

not sure who needs to hear this, but for anybody who may be battling with depression, here goes nothing:
i remember listening to this song a lot back when i was a depressed high schooler, and im sure many of you reading this are battling some sort of depression now to some extent. now my depression wasnt actually clinical, but it was close enough for me to be able to relate to some of you to some extent. but now, two years later, id like to tell you how i made it out of depression, and how you could do the same.
about 2 years ago, during my senior year, i did something very simple, yet completely life changing. i simply gave my life to Jesus Christ.
im not joking. i used to look at life and see nothing but emptiness. it was all meaningless. there was no joy or fullfillment. i was forced to fit in with the rest and change who i was to be accepted, but after i met Jesus, here's what i learned.
you dont have to do anything to be accepted or loved by him. God "knitted you together in the womb," and created you in his own image, and decided you were worthy of his love long before you were even born!
he offers eternal life. when he died on the cross, he paid the fine for our sins. death is the wages of sin (Romans 6:28), but Jesus paid those wages so you could live forever with him in heaven!
he gives meaning and fulfillment to life.
he has become my only real source of peace and joy to this day, and wants to do the same for you.
Matthew 11:28 "Come to Me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest."
and little by little, the joy of the Lord started replacing my dark nights, and peace started setting in as i praised the Lord.
if anybody here is struggling with depression or anxiety, i pray that the Lord takes over quickly. i just figured id share this testimony with you all hoping you would find some light. after all, Jesus is the light of the world. he was the greatest decision i ever made, and i truly hope you welcome him as well ❤️
