Slade - Mama Weer All Crazee Now Man Who Speeks Evil

Review by Reuben Gunday

The album Mama Weer All Crazee Now Man Who Speeks Evil by Slade is a classic rock masterpiece that showcases the band's raw energy and infectious hooks. From the opening riff of "Mama Weer All Crazee Now" to the anthemic chorus of "Man Who Speeks Evil," every song on this album is a foot-stomping, head-banging delight.

The production is tight and punchy, with Noddy Holder's distinctive vocals cutting through the mix like a razor. The guitar work of Dave Hill and bass of Jim Lea provide a solid foundation for Don Powell's thunderous drumming, creating a sound that is both heavy and catchy.

The album's standout tracks include the raucous "Take Me Bak 'Ome," the infectious "Gudbuy T'Jane," and the hard-hitting "Skweeze Me, Pleeze Me." However, even the lesser-known tracks like "The Whole World's Goin' Crazee" and "I Won't Let It 'Appen Agen" are full of energy and attitude.

I'm was born in 1990 and didnt discover Slade until I was 29. Pouk Hill and One Way Hotel are 2 of my favorite songs ever, this one is up there too. They really knew how to make a song envelop you.

Oh gosh I played this b side to an inch of my life as a 9 yr old. The strange lyrics you had to assimilate. Beautiful clash of chords that still harmonise and resolve. I still feel that Chas Chandler brought a dark magic to Slade from his time with Jimi. A band for all seasons ❤️??

Yep.

I remember BBC played this one day - April 1973 - when they got tired of Crazee.

WOW!
