Version from SLADEST. Ive known it since 1973
Saw them @Dr Pepper Music Festival - Central Park, NYC w/Brownsville Station opening Sep 1974 - Yea - JUST BRAGGIN (pix to prove it) 10 yts old !!!
The anthem of the UK now
for some reason this always sounds better in my head
I wish I had written this. So simple, but so damn effective. What an anthem!
You can't beat a bit of Slade.Great band!!!!☘
Incredible! :-D
Don Powell`s drumming makes this.
I'm was born in 1990 and didnt discover Slade until I was 29. Pouk Hill and One Way Hotel are 2 of my favorite songs ever, this one is up there too. They really knew how to make a song envelop you.
THANK YOU for posting this. Awesome stuff. Stay safe & healthy.
terrible eq
Oh gosh I played this b side to an inch of my life as a 9 yr old. The strange lyrics you had to assimilate. Beautiful clash of chords that still harmonise and resolve. I still feel that Chas Chandler brought a dark magic to Slade from his time with Jimi. A band for all seasons ❤️??
That haircut and the boots brought me here. X
Jim Lea’s bass is superb!
Birmingham x
The best British band ever and that includes the Beatles

Yep.
I remember BBC played this one day - April 1973 - when they got tired of Crazee.
WOW!

Shame on me, never heard this song before...
Bought the Single in 1972, when I was 11 years old. My first Slade Single.
I'm 62 now, I ain't got long left, But while I'm here . this is what i will be listening too,
Lyrics have a psychodelic sixties feel to them - are they Don Powell's?
Great lyrics and wonderfully powerful song
