Review by Jonai S

The album Sinfonie C dur by Schubert Staatskapelle Dresden, Wolfgang Sawallisch, is a magnificent tribute to the genius of Franz Schubert. The Staatskapelle Dresden, one of the world's oldest and most celebrated orchestras, delivers a rich and nuanced performance of Schubert's Symphony No. 9 in C Major, also known as the "Great C Major."

Under the baton of Wolfgang Sawallisch, the orchestra brings out the full range of emotions and textures in Schubert's music, from the soaring melodies of the first movement to the melancholy beauty of the second. The third movement, with its lively dance rhythms and playful syncopation, is a particular highlight, while the final movement builds to a triumphant and thrilling conclusion.

Throughout the album, the musicians demonstrate their exceptional technical skill and musical sensitivity, capturing the subtleties and nuances of Schubert's composition. The result is a performance that is both exhilarating and deeply moving.
