Review by Daniel Sa Nogueira

Ray Miller and His Orchestra's album, "I Ain't Got Nobody Weary Blues," is a stunning collection of classic jazz tunes that will transport listeners back to the roaring 20s. The album features Miller's smooth and soulful trumpet playing, as well as the incredible talents of his bandmates, who bring each song to life with their intricate arrangements and impeccable timing.

From the opening track, "I Ain't Got Nobody," to the closing number, "St. Louis Blues," the album is a non-stop tour de force of jazz music at its finest. Miller's trumpet work is particularly impressive, showcasing his range and skill as a musician. Meanwhile, the rest of the band provides a solid foundation for each song, with tight rhythms and expertly crafted solos.

One of the standout tracks on the album is "Tiger Rag," a classic jazz tune that Miller and his orchestra infuse with their own unique energy and flair. The song features some truly impressive trumpet work from Miller, as well as some incredible interplay between the various instruments in the band.

This same arrangement will be played Saturday May First at 12:30pm by the New Leviathan Oriental Foxtrot Orchestra at the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival ,Economy Hall tent, and sung by a vocalist as bad as the one on this record. Notice I said New Orleans where this kind of music has been loved continuously.

I love this version's comic touches amidst its sad lyrics. A very "perky" lament--with some fine pastel images--ah, those great old hotels!
