Pink Floyd - The Wall The Soundtrack Of The Motion Picture

Review by Luke Freeman

The album "The Wall: The Soundtrack of the Motion Picture" by Pink Floyd is a masterpiece that showcases the band's musical genius. The album features some of Pink Floyd's most iconic tracks, including "Another Brick in the Wall (Part II)" and "Comfortably Numb," which are elevated to new heights with the addition of stunning visuals from the film.

The album's themes of isolation, alienation, and the struggle for personal identity are conveyed through the haunting lyrics and hypnotic melodies. The album's use of sound effects and experimental techniques creates a surreal and immersive listening experience that transports the listener to the world of the film.

Roger Waters...brilliant lyricist and composer
David Gilmour....excellent guitarist and singer
I walked in on someone watching this when I was about four. It was on in the rec room. I hid behind the sofa and watched the whole thing. It really disturbed me. I don't think I understood much but it was pretty distressing. I never could find it after that and whenever I asked about it, describing it poorly from broken memory, people looked at me like I was crazy. Eventually I just started thinking I had dreamed it or worse, that something unspeakable had happened to me as a child and that bizarre collection of half-lit images and sounds was how my memory dealt with it. It really bothered me. And then in, like, grade 10 or something, somebody played it at a party. You can imagine how vindicated I felt. Like "Oh cool, I don't have PTSD.. it was just a rock opera."

It's one of my favourite movies now.

I remember recording this off of the T.V. on my "boom box" as a 12 year old kid. It was in the middle of night off of something like HBO or Showtime in like.... 82' or 83. I was mesmerized by this album/movie for the next 5 years.

Awesome!  It can be hard to find "When the Tiger's Broke Free!"  I know it is strange but I used to sing it to my daughter when she was a baby to put her to sleep...  Just a great song.  Thanks for doing all this work for this!

I agree, the songs from the movie add so much more to the experience, and in the past I've had to play the movie to hear them.  Great job, and thank you!!

I wasn't born in the Floyd generation, I'm only 19. I have such a deep appreciation for their music. It's so emotionally captivating. I listen to them constantly. They are definitely in my top 5.

This version of 'Mother' is way better than the original one. The soft heartbeat, the loneliness feeling of the blowing wind, and that fucking riff after the solo make me cry. Also this scene on the film is totally awesome, I love this movie and this soundtrack as well.
Again, thanks to VTFootball for uploading this, you are awesome!!!
