Osvaldo Pugliese - Cátedra de Tango

Review by Victor Correa

Cátedra de Tango by Osvaldo Pugliese is a masterpiece that showcases the genius of the Argentine musician. The album is a collection of some of Pugliese's most iconic pieces, played with a level of artistry and passion that is unmatched.

The album opens with the hauntingly beautiful "La Yumba," a classic tango that is instantly recognizable to anyone familiar with the genre. Pugliese's arrangement of the piece is masterful, with his trademark use of complex rhythms and harmonies adding depth and complexity to the already intricate melody.

The other tracks on the album are equally impressive, with each one showcasing Pugliese's incredible talent as a pianist and bandleader. "Adiós Muchachos" is a melancholic piece that captures the essence of the tango, while "El Choclo" is a lively, upbeat number that will have listeners tapping their feet and humming along.
