About Os Serranos

Os Serranos is a traditional gaucho musical ensemble, created in 1969 in Bom Jesus, a city located in the mountains of Rio Grande do Sul. In the beginning, they were an accordionist duo formed by Edson Dutra and Frutuoso Luís de Araújo, and they recorded their first double single in 1969, on the Copacabana label. The second album, an LP, was released three years later, and was called Nostalgia Gaúcha. Os Serranos is one of the few groups of music from Rio Grande do Sul that still preserves the traditionalism of Southern culture in their songs.
