Nervosa - Im Alive

Review by Dan Abadie

Nervosa's latest album, "I'm Alive," is a powerful and intense display of thrash metal at its finest. From start to finish, the album is a non-stop assault on the senses, with blistering riffs, thunderous drums, and searing vocals that leave no doubt as to the band's skill and passion.

The album's opening track, "Venomous," sets the tone with its driving rhythm and razor-sharp guitar work, while tracks like "Time to Fight" and "Genocidal Command" showcase the band's ability to blend technicality and aggression to devastating effect.

Throughout the album, lead vocalist Diva Satan delivers a powerful and commanding performance, her vocals shifting seamlessly between guttural growls and soaring screams. Meanwhile, the band's rhythm section, consisting of bassist Mia Wallace and drummer Eleni Nota, provide a relentless backbone for the album's many thrash-infused anthems.

About Nervosa

Scottish band from Edinburgh, who started out as the fetish goth band The Tortured, but changed their name to Nervosa in 1997 as another band from 'the southern part of England' had also used the name The Tortured. They changed their style to a more upbeat electronic europop, but still toured with the likes of Rosetta Stone, Die Laughing, All Living Fear, Isabel's Shrine, etc. They worked with Jon Klein, formerly of Specimen, who produced their single and (unreleased) album.
