THE ODD COUPLE
by Neal Hefti

? No matter where they go, they are known as a couple. ?
? They're never seen alone, so they're known as a couple. ?
? As I've indicated... They are never quite separated. ?
? They are peas in a pod, don't you think that it's odd. ?
? Their habits I confess, none can guess with the couple. ?
? If one says no it's yes, more or less with the couple. ?
? But, their laugh provoking... Yet, they really don't know they're joking ?
? don't you find, when love is blind, it's kinda odd. ?
? Don't you think it's odd. Don't you think it's odd. ?
? Don't you think it's odd. ?

In 1965, Neil Simon first wrote "THE ODD COUPLE" as a stage play. Three years later, in 1968, it went into a feature film starring Jack Lemmon as Felix Unger, and Walter Matthau as Oscar Madison. The film was an Oscar™ winning success. The successes of both the play and the film was brought to Television in 1970.
"Neil Simon's THE ODD COUPLE" is a sitcom series that followed a pair of divorced men. The first is Felix Unger, played by Tony Randall, star of Stage, Screen and Television. Randall's Unger is a Television Newswriter, Photographer and Bachelor. Another Stage, Screen and Television star, Jack Klugman plays the second, Felix's childhood friend, Oscar Madison. Klugman's Madison is a reluctant Sportscaster and Sportswriter. Together, they live in an apartment that they both shared in New York City. Their only rule was... Can two divorced men share an apartment without driving each other crazy?.
"Neil Simon's THE ODD COUPLE" is Developed for Television by Jerry Belson and Gary Marshall, the same duo who earlier co-wrote episodes of "THE DICK VAN DYKE SHOW
