Dichotomy is the debut album of the Australian metalcore band Polaris, released in 2012. The album features a blend of heavy breakdowns, melodic choruses, and intricate guitar work, showcasing the band's musical prowess and creativity.
The opening track "Dichotomy" sets the tone for the album with its aggressive riffs and pounding drums, while "Frailty" features a catchy chorus and clean vocals that contrast with the harsh screams. "Dreamer" and "Create" offer a more atmospheric and introspective sound, with haunting melodies and emotional lyrics.
The album's standout track is "Reflections," which showcases the band's ability to seamlessly transition between heavy and melodic sections, with a memorable chorus and a soaring guitar solo. "No Rest" and "Recreate" offer more of the band's signature breakdowns and intense energy, while "Illuminate" closes the album with a haunting piano intro and a powerful climax.
