About The Nashville Teens
British beat combo founded in Weybridge, Surrey in 1962. They were part of the wave of British bands to play in Hamburg, Germany, before going on to have a level of success in the United States. They were one of the first groups, along with The Spencer Davis Group, to be invited to play in Hungary in 1967 and have a very big and loyal fanbase there up to this day. On the departure of Arthur Sharp in 1972, was left as the only remaining original member. They disbanded in 1973, but were reformed by Phillips in 1980. Between 1973 and 1980 Ray Philips toured Hungary with several line ups under the guise of The Nashville Teens.

My brother in law Art Sharp
Was he on the special brew at the end?
On this day in 1965 {February 12th} The Nashville Teens performed "Find My Way Back Home" on the BBC-TV program 'Ready Steady Go!'...
Just over three weeks later on March 7th the song entered the United Kingdom's Top 40 chart at #34, and the following week it dropped down to #39 and that was its last week on the chart...
Across the pond in the U.S.A., it also entered Billboard's Hot Top 100 chart on March 7th at position #99, the next week it moved up one position to #98 and that was also its final week on the Top 100...
The sextet had one other Top 100 record, "Tobacco Road

I see the drummers changed from the original Barry who later joined Eric Burdons new Animals
Broadcast on 'Music Hall De France', 13th May 1966. Shame there's not more from this show!
This out of date song was recorded in NYC while waiting for work visa problems - not sorted. So on return to UK, Mickie Most (who produced Tobacco Road & Google Eye)dropped them claiming they had broken their contract. The twin vocals on this live TV recording worst ever but notice how superb is Hawken's piano is.
NICE!! The Easybeats also tried their hand at this song. It's a toss up as to which one is better, but I'll take the both of them. Find My Way Back Home was released on MGM in the U.S. Well worth finding.
The taller lead singer always looked like he needed a shave or would try to sell me a dodgy motor.
MERCI BEAUCOUP.
RARE and beautiful FRENCH EP .
sounds like lil jon in the beginning
@BluesFrets I think you will find the piano man is John Hawken. Later of Renaissance and The Strawbs among others. One of the best piano men ever made! :-) It may also be Michael Dunford (Renaissance) on bass. If not then it is probably Jimmy Page - later Yardbirds and Led Zeppelin
Doesn't get any geekier than the piano man! Good though!
bank of marshalls!
