  • The Mayan Factor have a very ethnic sound, using atmospheric percussion (congas and drums), acoustic guitars, and various keyboard samples and tribal bass. They are extremely melodic, with a very intense and heavy feel. The Mayan Factor could equally be called prog rock as they could be lumped into the space rock category. They have released two full-length albums, In Lake ‘ch and 44 .
  • With the return of Dan Angermaier on drums, and Johnny Burke replacing Brian Scott on guitar, The Mayan Factor was moving forward with a 3rd album that they hoped to drop in 2011. The Singer Ray died on 8. february 2011, purportedly due to a heroin overodose.
