Review by Paul Omer Bicol

Lighthouse Plays For Peace by Lighthouse is a beautifully crafted album that showcases the band's immense talent and versatility. The album is a perfect blend of jazz, rock, and pop, with each track taking the listener on a journey through different emotions and moods.

The album opens with the title track, "Plays For Peace," a soothing and uplifting instrumental piece that sets the tone for the rest of the album. The next track, "The Love Of A Woman," features bright horns and smooth vocals, creating a joyful and upbeat vibe.

As the album progresses, the band explores more complex themes and sounds. "Broken Guitar Blues" is a melancholic and soulful track that showcases the band's ability to convey emotion through music. "Take It Slow (Out In The Country)" is a funky and groovy track that will have listeners tapping their feet and nodding their heads.

wonderful song!
Toward the end - that 'back mask' section...isn't it simply the melody from Dvorak's 'New World Symphony'? -sounds like it.

Still one of the best tracks they ever did. Ralph Cole's playing is incredible! No wonder Janis Joplin wanted him for her band!

i remember hearing this for the first time at st michael's college in taranna - Toronto for the uniniated, there weren't any diddlers there back then and pinky Davin was lead singer then, R I P SKIPPY !!!
I have (or had) the LP on vinyl. I took the opening fanfare, recorded it digitally on my computer, the cleaned up the scratches etc with Sony Sound Forge. It has been the ring-tone on my phone for probably 8 years now. That was one of the most amazing pieces of music. That band was soooo ahead of its time.

This band never got the respect in this country that it deserved. In their native Canada they were huge. They had a string section in their band way before ELO!

I bought "Suite Feeling" on 8- track in 1973 when I was 13 years old in Lander, Wyoming. We were really hip to the music scene as there wasn't much else to do there. We kids had all the new releases back then- Wishbone Ash, Zep, Tull, ELP, Heep, Fairport, Procol, Jack Bruce,Juicy Lucy, Rory Gallagher, etc., and to think of all the crappy odd jobs we did to earn the money to buy them. Ah yes... to be a kid again back with old friends.

These guys deserve to be in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.. Won't happen though.. Skip Prokop was a criminally underrated drummer, Ralph Cole, criminally underrated guitarist. The list goes on..
