Comments
I recall this movie. It was the last movie shown in the Lyric Theater in NE Minneapolis. A few years later, I was the AV guy who designed a journey through a person's lungs display in a mobile van.
Fantastic Voyage should have won Best Picture of 1966!!!!!
if only he had brought this level of scoring to Star Trek IV
Used to be scared of this music
Leonard Rosenman's soundtrack is one of a kind. EPIC! And I do have the original soundtrack (from 976-CREOLEMAN).
I grew up with this movie Proteus designed buy harper goff , 20th thousands Leagues under the sea nautilus ship , music score is amazing still bits into you weirdest and just wonderful film I can't see they making a remake if they did everything in the film should be same ship to just Rachel left but effects be up to date .
I first saw this movie about 2 years ago and I thought the effects were amazing considering it was back in 1966. No wonder it won the Oscar for the effects.
Wonder if this film inspired the dopers' phrase "Let's get small!"
This score would sound completely different if Schoenberg, Berg and Webern never existed!
music conveys a sinister and creepy environment even though it human body.
What an amazing score.... Rosenmann is so terrific.
Saw this when I was 12! I couldn't get enough of the Proteus (or Raquel Welch!) , one the coolest subs designed for a sci-fi movie!!!
I saw the movie when I was 11 years old, it was exciting even though the science behind it didn't make sense and was pure fantasy.
