Review by Lori Murray

The Fantastic Voyage Original Motion Picture Soundtrack by Leonard Rosenman is a magnificent masterpiece that showcases the composer's exceptional skills in creating an immersive musical experience. The album features 12 tracks that perfectly capture the essence of the classic sci-fi film, which tells the story of a team of scientists who are miniaturized and injected into a human body to save a dying patient.

Rosenman's score is a perfect blend of orchestral and electronic music that creates a sense of wonder and awe. The opening track, "Main Title," sets the tone for the entire album with its haunting melody and pulsating rhythm. The use of electronic instruments such as the theremin and the Moog synthesizer adds a futuristic feel to the music, which perfectly complements the film's sci-fi theme.

The album also features several action-packed tracks such as "The Proteus," "Laser," and "Escape," which are filled with adrenaline-pumping beats and intense orchestral arrangements. These tracks perfectly capture the tension and excitement of the film's action scenes.

One of the standout tracks on the album is "Through the Carotid Artery," which features a beautiful and ethereal melody that perfectly captures the sense of wonder and awe that the scientists feel as they journey through the human body.

I recall this movie. It was the last movie shown in the Lyric Theater in NE Minneapolis. A few years later, I was the AV guy who designed a journey through a person's lungs display in a mobile van.

I first saw this movie about 2 years ago and I thought the effects were amazing considering it was back in 1966. No wonder it won the Oscar for the effects.

This score would sound completely different if Schoenberg, Berg and Webern never existed!

Saw this when I was 12! I couldn't get enough of the Proteus (or Raquel Welch!) , one the coolest subs designed for a sci-fi movie!!!

I saw the movie when I was 11 years old, it was exciting even though the science behind it didn't make sense and was pure fantasy.
