Comments
Leon's song selection was perfect and so well suited to his voice. He always surrounded himself with great musicians, as he was one himself. This was his first voyage into country music and I think it was his best. You can hear the joy and fun he had recording this album and it holds up more than 4 decades later.
Hank, my man. Rest in peace!
I knew about Leon from his start but didn't know about this album back then. He has always been one of my favorite musicians, a huge talent that didn't always get the credit due him. Was there anything he couldn't do, musically? don't think the accolades mattered much to him, he was all about the music. Nice write up.
He has been a favorite of mine since the 70s. So unique, one of a kind. R I P Leon, you are missed.
R.I.P. Leon Russell you will be sadly missed I have been listening to Leon Russell since the 70's he always put on a good show I'm gonna to listen to the man now........
