About Kohl & The Gang

Hurra Deutschland (English: "Hurrah Germany") was a German satirical series running from 1987 to 1991, appearing regularly on TV. It was easily distinguished because of its use of rubber puppets modelled on politicians and celebrities, who were poked fun of in various sketches. A new edition entitled "Hurra Deutschland - Jetzt erst recht!" (Literally: "Hurrah Germany - Now more than ever!") began as of 2003. However the general opinion was that the new series lacked the mordacity and audacity that the old one had. The show was modelled on the British series Spitting Image, where many prominent personalities were parodied with rubber puppets. Kohl & The Gang treats the political area of the german government around the chancellor Helmut Kohl only. Kohl & The Gang is the musical parody of that time.n
