Such an underrated song.
Hermosa canción!!
Genius
Graduated HS in 98. And God this reminds me of the old days. Drink SURGE! And silence my Gigapet!!
So awesome especially the guitar at the ending...Soo Many memories
Saw Jude okay this song live like twenty two years ago when he opened for a blend I didn't greatly like but wanted to hang with my friend. I remembered this song for the entire two and a quarter decades. Amazing work. Great show: I swear I recall him freaking out with crazy falsetto during the chorus line in a way he didn't do on the record.
Great song.. was hooked first time I heard it,, way back! Just caught a band "The Accidentals" out of Michigan at our local school's School of Rock concert, out doors in this delightful weather.. One song the guitar rifts brought this song back immediately.. Had to look it up to revisit!
This song is so cool! It's like a mashup of Elvis' "A Little Less Conversation" and Queen's "Another One Bites the Dust" laced with Venom.
You know I accidentally heard this song back in 98 on this new and up-and-coming artists CD and it hadn't quite come out to anybody yet but my friend used to work at Capitol and it was for the radio station so you know I mean it wasn't just Capital record recordings it was like just for the radio new songs. so this was on it and I really liked it so he just gave me a copy cuz he had 2 at least but I think they just give them to the DJ's because they also can like order what they will and won't play so I don't know but anyway I lost that sucker long time ago but I do remember on it had Madonna's power of goodbye, Marilyn Manson's I don't like the drugs but the drugs like me, and besides this song oh, they had Alanis Morissette's thank you which nobody had heard yet and I was absolutely hooked on that song but I just loved how at that time everybody and I think it's mostly because Madonna came out with that ray of light album and everybody was influenced by it. Left and right everybody said that they were just obsessed with it and we're really inspired by it and it came out in the winter on March 3rd but by the time October came around I mean everybody went electronica in some way shape or form. Like look at this song oh, I love it how it's just got kind of a guitar and beat to it so it does have you know a typical song that you'd hear on the radio back in that day but then the chorus has this really awesome Electro Funk kind of thing come in and I love how more and more people were starting to experiment with the Electronica stuff and I think Marilyn Manson even said that Madonna has always been one of his influences and that ray of light was a big influence for Mechanical Animals in the sense that he really admired how she would experiment so much with every little blip in beet and stuttering drums and all of it that were in there how he really like that and of course you know more in his style plus some David Bowie and of course some of his style of music was all wrapped in there so that's very cool. But yeah this is definitely a song I remember and then I remember seeing it on the show Felicity and that was the moment I knew that the radio would probably pick it up and it definitely did
We're not going to talk about the asshole in the song?
how does thing only have 40K views? It will be featured in a movie someday, and it will blow up after
I found the song by typing
, Rick James Was The Original Freak, sometimes it's best to google the entire lyric line instead of the song's name...

AWESOME SONG!! god i miss highschool :-)
It's a shame the things you hide behind it
Let 'em go
Give it up for a while
Let 'em free and we will both go find it
I know there's nowhere you can hide it
I know the feeling of alone
I know that you do not feel invited
But, come back, come back in from the cold
Step away then from the edge
Your best friend in life is not your mirror
Back away, come
Back away, come
Back away, come
Back away, come
Back away, come
Back away
I am here and I will be forever and ever and I
I know that there's nowhere you can hide it
I know the feeling of alone
Trust me and don't keep that on the inside
Soon you'll be locked out on your own
You're not alone
You're not alone
And don't say you've never been told
I'll be with you 'til we grow old
'Til I'm in the ground and I'm cold
I'm not sitting up here on some throne
I'll be with you 'til we grow up young
Like a dog you can always come home
Dig up a bone
Look around Down baby downtown
Don't throw me to the pound
