Любимая певица на все времена! Спасибо!
Is this aria in G major since it is transposed down one step?
Outstanding performance...?❤?
A great concert at the SOH with Marilyn Horne - June 1985.
Wow! I just stood up and clapped! Its interesting to note that this is 25 years after her 1961 Lucia Debut . This is why sticking to the right repertoire is crucial to a long career.
Stupenda !!!
Wow such a clear, crisp, beautiful voice. She truly was a force to be reconned with. One of my all time favorite and best sopranos of all times. Just love her.????
There was never a more thrilling voice in operatic history than the great Joan Sutherland...it is just amazing to hear her sing this fiendishly difficult Rossini aria that she recorded so early in her career and she still nails it in almost exactly the same voice as she did back then. I had the privilege and the great pleasure of hearing Dame Joan three times in person...in a fabulous 1979 intimate recital at the University of Michigan Ann Arbor where she was incredibly charming and loveable(she forgot the words to the "Tornami a vaggeghiar" and Mr. Bonynge, in a bit of a huff, left the piano and retrieved her music and her glasses!!)....in a fabulous gala performance with Pavarotti of Bellini's "I Puritani" which was as close to heaven as one can imagine at the Met in NYC...and finally, in Boston, in a recital with full orchestra where she wore the most extravagant blue gown the color of lapis lazuli encrusted with diamantes...she looked like she had descended from heaven and she sang just as heavenly that evening. We are so blessed to have her many recordings and these wonderful videos of her...from her ingenue days in the black and white television appearances she made to the mature singer through the end of her tremendous career. I am sure I have listened to the studio recording of the "Vorrei spiegarvi il giubilo" thousands of times since I first heard it in 1974 and that high E natural at the end still thrills me and sends shivers down my spine today just as it did back then. Bravissima La Stupenda!!!!
Perfección!!!
Maravilhosa!
my first time to hear this aria and this made me feel the vibe of dunque io son in il barbiere and non mia vita in il turco hehehe
On the studio recording the high note is an E natural.
This is a full step lower for a high D. She had an enormous
top D up until 1990, and this is no exception.
I could also listen to this over and over and aside Semiramide and some Barbiere clips, that's it for rossini.

Sutherland sang Rossini so well. Why so little roles?
omg, I can't stop listening this. her voice has a unique warm quality that makes it very pleasurable to hear.
What a huge voice!! I love her!
I don't understand why people don't give this goddess the love and respect she respect ???
Thank you so much for this! I used to have this concert on VHS, but it wore out. I've been looking for this clip for ages! She's unreal, throwing off the coloratura like it's a walk in the park. Definitely my favorite version of this aria.
Vielen dank nochmal, Lohengrin. Ich bewundere Ihre Liebe zur Oper.
Callas was probably Not amused
Nobody likes a show off, but everything has an acception.
Divina.
