Great!
My personal favorite of Yancey's recordings. No other blues pianists could swing so hard using such few notes (except possibly Pine Top Smith or Montana Taylor). This recording reminds me of Montana Taylor's Indiana Avenue Stomp.
i know that, but i believe it was acollaboration during the composing, correct?
My thanks James Price Johnson! By posting this you are showing yourself to be a cultured young man with a sense of history.
Hi crankbv1, I've found a recording of 'At the window'. I have sent you a personal message re my e-mail address, If you answer it I'll send on the piece. If not talk to me on this site.
This is a Jimmy Yancey solo-piece (rec. Chicago, Sep. 6th 1940). Meade Lux Lewis is not involved.
His playing captured my feeling and my heart beautifully. Thx!
