In English is the final album from the late Icelandic composer Jóhann G Jóhannsson, released posthumously in 2019. The album is a departure from Jóhannsson's previous works, which were primarily instrumental soundtracks for films such as Arrival and The Theory of Everything. Instead, In English showcases Jóhannsson's vocal abilities, with the majority of the tracks featuring lyrics sung in English.
The album's opening track, "Mandy Love Theme," sets the tone for the rest of the album with its hauntingly beautiful melody and introspective lyrics. Other standout tracks include "Good Morning, Midnight," which features a driving beat and layered vocals, and "Flight from the City," which showcases Jóhannsson's signature piano work.
Despite the change in style, In English still retains Jóhannsson's signature sound, with its lush orchestration and intricate arrangements.
