Abducted, the fourth studio album by Swedish death metal band Hypocrisy, is a must-listen for all metal enthusiasts. Released in 1996, the album features eleven tracks that showcase the band's signature style of combining death metal with melodic elements.

Ultra rare mispress of Hypocrisy - Abducted LP on clear vinyl. Nuclear Blast re-released "Abducted" in the year 2000 on clear and on orange vinyl, both limited to 200 copies. The first run was on clear vinyl. A guy at the pressing plant mixed the pressing plates of Hypocrisy (Abducted) and S.O.D. (Stormtroopers Of Death - Bigger Than The Devil) by accident. The records have been destroyed directly afterwards. Only a handful have survived . . . only one known copy so far.

1996's Abducted shows Peter Tagtgren's masterful skill in production (something he got lost on later years and works). This is one of the most brutal Power/Black Metal albums ever released, featuring expansive guitar channels that sound deadly and immensely deep, a perfect mastering and enough trebles to make the palm-muting/tremolos appropriately spectral. His newfound shrieking vocals and a good deal of terrific highlights ("Roswell 47", the Forgotten Tomb-sounding "The Arrival of the Demons Part 2", the proto-Metalcore breakdown of "Carved Up" and the Gothic Rock-tending ballads "Slippin' Away" and "Drained"), while "Buried", with its mid-tempo Bolt Thrower-like grooves and Drop A tuning, sounds a bit abnormal. The title track is an effective D-based Death Metal Malevolent Creation-tending onslaught, but unfortunately cuts like "Point of No Return" sound like slower thrashing filler. Lyrics are based over alien abduction, but unfortunately they were never published in the booklet, a problem that continued until Catch 22. Even with all these defects, Abducted remains a milestone of Extreme Metal production, and a strong album of its own. It's also a testament of an era when Nuclear Blast albums really had great sound engineering.Highlights: "Roswell 47", "The Arrival of the Demons Part 2", "Paradox", "Drained".

Saw them live in Wacken and they destroyed the place. Know them since over 20 years now and they still rule. This Track, beside 4th Dimension, is one of my Favorite.
