Absolutely the best version of Stormy Monday. Little Milton was a crazy great guitar player and an incredible voice.
My fave version of this tune
Stormy Monday
Tuesday's just as bad
Wednesday's worse
... & Thursday's oh so sad
The Eagle flies on Friday
& Saturday I go out to play
On Sunday I go to church
& get down on my knees to pray
Poetry for the bad days

where is this kind of song/singer today?
Some of the best guitar play ever on a blues track!! My favorite version. That intro screams Saturday night blues club drinkin'!
legendary stuff
My grandmother played this song 55 years ago, I see why. I love and miss you Granny M ❤?
Love it!
How you gonna make it. When you don't have a cent to pay the rent. ???

This is a uplifting song especially if you're going to hard times. I really love this song. We're going to make it, this is for the whole world, we're going to make it.
Chicago soul masterpiece that I see as the upbeat successor to Sam Cooke's "A Change Is Gonna Come" from earlier in the year. Compelling mix of social realism and optimism. Fine arrangement, and Little Milton's vocal is both engaging and commanding. That it reached #25 pop nationally, even though it was shut out of the Top 40 formats in many markets, shows how strong this record was. #8 R&B/soul hit of the year in 1965.
Reminds me so much of better times for me and my people or so i thought. I was a child but we stayed in our own neighborhoods and went to our own schools. It was great!!!
Loved the ads for this classic, 'Hottest Thing In Chicago Since The Fire'.
I Love this Song .
