What a beautiful and distinctive sound the CPO had, and still has to a certain degree, a good conductor and wonderful serene music. A winner.
Enchanting beauty??????????Beautiful pictures of great composer!
???!
What a sensitive and sublime performance. Outstanding horns and woodwind. Next to Bernhard Herrmann's this is my favourite interpretation. I first heard it on the old BBC third programme in the early 1970's when I was working as a photographic printer in a dreary, stuffy darkroom. It immediately transported me to the landscapes of the Camargue and Provence. Peaceful and eternal.
I found this little gem while listening to my local classical radio station, and then came here. I concur with all the comments posted--it's so lovely! Now, I use it for meditation to get myself set for the morning.
Une de mes musiques d'Honneger préf'erées très bien interpretée par Maestro Baudo. . Merci beacoup!
Yes, it's a great performance, like M° Hermann Scherchen.
This performance is, compared to many ot the others up and available, just so everything right.... Thank you Maestro Baudo and musicians.
